PA Family Travel Fair
Do You Know Where You’ll Vacation This Year?
Each year, Pennsylvania welcomes millions and millions of travelers from all over the U.S. and the world. So, what is it that people from other states know about Pennsylvania that we don’t? Often, we’re so familiar with our surroundings that we forget that there’s a lot more to Pennsylvania than the county we live in. For the past year, we at Where & When, Pennsylvania’s Travel Guide, have been working on a brand-new event designed to introduce families to the amazing vacation destinations in the commonwealth. On Saturday, April 21, the inaugural PA Family Travel Fair (PAFTF) will welcome attendees to visit with exhibitors representing attractions and destinations from all over Pennsylvania. At each booth, friendly and knowledgeable people will help you with information about their destination – no high-pressure sales or gimmicks.
In addition to giveaways that will be available at individual booths, one lucky attendee will win a $2,500 getaway for four in Northern Pennsylvania! This family vacation will take the winner to four destinations in that region. Each destination will provide accommodations for two nights, plus meals and passes to attractions and activities. If that wasn’t enough, the winner has the flexibility to plan an eight-night trip or break the package up into four smaller family getaways. Complete details for the PAFTF getaway package will be available at the PA Family Travel Fair.
Among our exhibitors, you’ll find amazing outdoors destinations, historic sites, family fun attractions, campgrounds and unique lodging. The fair will also feature children’s activities. The Pennsylvania Alliance for Geographic Education at Shippensburg University will bring a 22-foot giant map of Pennsylvania. Children will be able to participate in an interactive scavenger hunt involving the vendors. In addition, magician and amazing balloon artist, Randy Ward from Party Pac Entertainment will be fascinating the kids with his high-energy style of entertainment. Radio station 90.3 WJTL will host a Kids Cookie Break (KCB) Pop Up Party and will broadcast live from 9 a.m. to noon. Radio personality Lisa Landis and the KCB Car will also make an appearance during the broadcast.
Isaac’s Restaurants will serve up some of their amazing dishes inside the café, while food trucks including Auntie Anne’s Pretzels and Good Life Ice Cream & Treats will be set up outside.
Although the free PA Family Travel Fair is focused on family vacations, vendors will have great options for couples and single travelers as well.
